VOLUNTEER TODAY

You can play a key role in the success of LCC Theatre by volunteering. Volunteers bring energy and assistance to the theatre’s performances. Volunteers are needed on performance nights for the ticket office, ushering, artist merchandise and concession sales and occasionally backstage.  Time commitment is usually a total of 3-4 hours starting 1 hour and 30 minutes before the show until audience departure. Ultimately, we hope to create a strong volunteer support group for the theatre. LCC Theatre is grateful to the great assistance of the website Volunteerhawaii.org in helping us bringing more volunteers to the Theatre.

Volunteering Instructions

Complete the form below. Be sure to indicate any job preferences you may have. Please be aware that an in-person orientation with LCC Theatre staff is mandatory BEFORE the first show that we have confirmed with you to help out with. The basic time committment is arrival at the theatre 1 hour and 30 minutes before the performance begins until AFTER the audience has exited the theatre. Priority placement will go to returning volunteers with at least one season of experience. The number of volunteer slots for any particular show are limited and filled according to theatre needs. We will attempt to satisfy requests of preferred jobs and events. *Please press TAB to go from field to field. Then press ENTER only when you are done to submit the form.*

Best Way To Contact You About Volunteering (cell, work or home phone, email):

The following are positions we typically need to fill for our performances. Please check the positions you would be interested in performing this year. You can also download a volunteer handbook here.

Usher- Assists with ripping tickets, distributing programs, escorting people to their seats prior to and during a performance.

Ticket Office Assistant- Helps distribute and sell tickets on busy performance nights.

Assistant to Persons with Disabilities
- Watches for persons with disabilities, answers questions, and escorts them to accessible seating.

Concession Sales
- Sells refreshments before show and during intermission.

Merchandise Sales
- Helps sell performer merchandise (CDs, Tshirts, stickers, etc).

The following positions are ones we don’t foresee needing on a consistent basis in the immediate future but think we might start filling in the next season or two. These positions can require a longer time commitment and dedication and encompasses greater responsibility than those listed above. Every now and then situations pop up where we do need an extra hand for one show. If you are interested in some of the following positions for this year with an eye for doing it more often in future years, please check them off.

Security- Watches the backstage and dressing room areas during performances to ensure the privacy and security of performers
and their belongings.

Volunteer Coordinator-
Contacts people in the volunteer pool for events needing additional help. May also recruit new volunteers
for LCC Theatre shows.

Artists Hospitality-
Prepares catering and dining set up. Attends to performer requests for sundry items (ironing boards,
extra napkins, etc).
Requires a greater commitment of time as artists arrive many hours before a performance.

Backstage Crew-
Occasionally additional help is needed backstage moving equipment, ironing clothes, assisting with quick changes.
