YOUR Leeward Theatre’s 42nd Season Tartuffe Alternate Space (AM 101) November 11, 12, 17, 18 at 8pm November 13 & 19 at 4pm Orgon, a wealthy nobleman, has recently invited Tartuffe to stay at his house. Tartuffe has a reputation as a holy man, but the rest of the family are certain that Tartuffe is a fraud. Orgon’s family all try to convince him that Tartuffe is cheating him, but nothing will change his mind. Orgon even goes so far as to make Tartuffe heir to his property, and to break off his daughter Mariane’s engagement to her true love to marry Tartuffe instead. At last the family decides to set a trap for Tartuffe in order to prove his hypocrisy to Orgon. Come see this hilarious and topical comedy! Seating is limited. Screwbuki Alternate Space (AM 101) January 27 & 28 at 8pm Screwbuki is innovative show which combines traditional Kabuki theatre with modern improv. Using kabuki voice, movement, character archetypes, costume and makeup with improvised dialog and storytelling, Screwbuki is one of the most requested improv show in the country. Seating is limited. Plantation Plays Hawaii's Plantation Village February 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26 at 10am & 2pm each day We've commissioned three local playwrights -- Courtney Takabayashi, Kirstyn Trombetta, and Kiki -- to create site specific work for our annual children's theatre production. Come see these new works being performed at actual locations around Hawaii's Plantation Village in Waipahu! Comedy of Errors Alternate Space (AM 101) April 13, 14, 20, 21 at 8pm April 15 & 22 at 4pm Mistaken identities of every shape and size commence in a classic farce of Shakespearean proportions! Comedy of Errors is Shakespeare earliest comedy and shortest surviving play. Separated at birth, two sets of long-lost twins are loose in the same town. Mistaken identities make for hilarious complications: servants are sent on wrong errands, jewelry is given to the wrong person, and husbands are locked out of their own homes. Seating is limited so get your tickets early! Spring Guitar Concert Alternate Space (AM 101) April 23 at 4pm Join us for an afternoon of guitar ensembles, duets and solos. Shoot/Get Treasure/Repeat Alternate Space (AM 101) May 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 13 at 8pm Shoot/Get Treasure/Repeat is an epic cycle of short plays examining the personal and political effect of war on modern life. Each play is a fragment of suffering, and a fierce sardonic attack on the war on terror. The scenes are lightly connected, but can be performed in any combination or order. Seating is limited.
